What is a subluxation?

“The nervous system holds the key to the body's incredible potential to heal itself.” – Sir Jay Holder, M.D., D.C., Ph.D., of Miami, Florida

Your nervous system controls EVERYTHING in your body — every cell, tissue, organ, and system. Vertebral Subluxation (or “subluxation”) is a misalignment in the vertebral column (spine) causing interference within the nervous system resulting in your body working at less than its potential. Simply put, it doesn't work as well as it could. If that interference is left uncorrected, over time the body starts to break down, and at some point symptoms and dis-ease begin to appear. Elements like chronic stress, poor diet, trauma and emotional disturbances, poor posture, and environmental influences all not only cause subluxation but also contribute to worsening the effects of those that already exist. Subluxation often occurs first during the birth process. Your life and your health suffer when subluxation is present. This condition can be present with absolutely no pain. Chiropractors correct subluxations. Unfortunately, many people wait until they have pain before they see a chiropractor to get their spine checked. While chiropractic is effective at this point, it takes work to eliminate the pain prior to the point of truly moving towards greater health.

Below are SOME symptoms/conditions that suggest subluxation may be present:

It is important to realize that chiropractic is not the treatment of any condition. The purpose of chiropractic is to find and reduce stress and interference to the nerve system, allowing the person to experience greater function and an overall improved quality of life.
